The South Chicken and Waffles - http://thesouthchickenandwaffles.com/

I had some friends visiting this weekend, and they wanted to get a quick brunch before heading back home to Austin. We found The South after a quick local search, and I had never heard of it - likely because it just opened in early September! Their specialty and namesake was delicious, with two types of waffle to choose from (butter and red velvet, though they tasted pretty similar) and perfect, moist fried chicken. I had the berry shortcake french toast, generously portioned and topped with strawberries and cream with a side of sausage. I can't wait to go back and try more things on their menu, such as their "Bowl o' Gumbo", Catfish and Grits, Carolina Blue Hot Cakes, and Green Thumb Omelet. Didn't see any mimosas or bloody maries on their menu, but I liked their coffee!
