Whiskey Cake - 1/7/2018
Whiskey Cake - http://www.whiskeycakesa.com/
Generally known for its fresh juices and cake that is this treehouse's namesake, Whiskey Cake does a great job with locally sourced brunch too. From the french-press coffee to the cheddar and jalapeno biscuits, their brunch oozes hipster in a nice and comfy way. The first time I went for brunch last year, I lucked out and tried the top notch Chicken and Waffles, which was excellent albeit slightly salty since the waffle was laced with bacon. Salt was also a theme at this brunch, and neither Norma nor I could finish our second jalapeno cheddar biscuit because they were just too rich and salty, especially paired with the equally salty (though helpfully slightly sweet) bacon strips. A good place to go every once in a while, Whiskey Cake is a good option for brunch, but you may want to hold out a few hours to have lunch with dessert instead.
